Oscar's tapas happy hour

Birmingham has a great art museum, with a really classy restaurant inside. I’ve had their brunch before, but that was the extent of it. Our awesome foodie couple friends suggested that we all go for Thursday happy hour, which includes a $15 per person all you can eat tapas buffet. Usually, buffets, especially happy hour buffets, aren’t the greatest quality. This one, however, was incredible. When I saw the oysters, I started to get excited:

And then the shrimp:

My other favorites were the Mexican dip and spinach dip, served with crusty French bread:

Here’s the rest of the spread:

They give you small plates, which I took as a hint. For my 1st course, I took only a polite, socially acceptable amount of food:

On my 2nd trip, I didn’t hold back:

This was a filling meal and didn’t feel at all like I was just filling up on apps.

By the time we left, the place was packed!

And we still had some time to check out the museum and a metalworking demonstration outside. Not bad for a Thursday night!
